“I like to bring up the fact that I can’t sing, dance or play an instrument, but somehow I made it to the mountaintop of music.”
More to come!
We just had some songs featured on Adam Carolla (Loveline, etc.)’s website. Hear some talk about the Oscars interspersed with a number of our songs!
The trailer for “Crime after Crime”: a documentary film which features several il gato songs and was an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival. It was recently purchased by Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Films, which will distribute the film nationally!
“Credence Clearwater Revival meets the Moody Blues meets ELO”
“The album is fraught with unexpected twists… ‘All these Slippery Things’ plays out more like a play with the lengthier tracks being the main acts and with sub 3:00 tracks playing the role as the introductions for the next action sequence.”
il gato at BAMM.tv
il gato - “On Feathers & Arrows (on Burnt Pine)”
Sea of Bees: “The Woods”
To bridge our show last night at BAMM.tv with our show this Sunday at the Bottom of the Hill I just saw this video they made for this amazing song. Sea of Bees is on Crossbill Records out of Davis, California which is run by the awesome Michael Leahy. Jake Mann & the Upper Hand are also on the label and this Sunday is their album release. Grand Lake rounds out the bill. Should be a great show!
“We’re really not sure why we don’t hear more about the ornate folk-pop of San Francisco outfit Il Gato, but maybe, after tonight, we will”
This is why I love Arcade Fire. The crowd sings. Like loud! And for a long time!
I saw the “Funeral” tour at the Great American Music Hall and this happened. They left the stage singing these happy “ooohs” and ‘Voila!’, the crowd does an awesomely respectable version for over a minute. Power to the people! I bow down Arcade Fire.
Bon Iver & Bowerbirds: “Lovin’s for Fool” (Sarah Siskind cover)“
When I first heard and fell in love with Bon Iver a couple years ago it wasn’t any ordinary love. Listening to "For Emma Forever Ago” made me never want to play music again because someone sooo had it figured out. He still does that to me. I can only hope that some of his light seeps into some of my songs.
