“===== Polar Bears by Kickball =====
I can make the right decision by making my decision the right decision.

Opportunities. Opportunities.
Available is an ambition.
It depends on you to be decisive.
To make decisions.
But it’s hard to think about the girls you’d like to kiss when the world is ending.
The man on the news says that the polar bears will all be dead soon.
God fucking damn this shit!
“It’s gobbledygook; ‘Come Together’ was an expression that Timothy Leary had come up with for his attempt at being president or whatever he wanted to be, and he asked me to write a campaign song. I tried and tried, but I couldn’t come up with one. But I came up with this, ‘Come Together’, which would have been no good to him – you couldn’t have a campaign song like that, right?”
“Art is just a stupid obsession, but nothing gets the job done like an obsessed person.”
Beautiful and sad.
According to Prince.
Hilarious.
“It was Keith’s great riff, and I wrote the rest. The funny thing was that it turned into this reggae song after two takes. And that take on ‘Tattoo You’ was the only take that was a complete rock and roll take. And then it went to reggae completely for about 20 takes, and that’s why everyone said, “Oh, that’s crap. We don’t want to use that.” And no one went back to Take 2, which was the one we used, the rock track.”
Grimes having to defend her love for pop. Own it, girl! →
So I made that post about my favourite songs of 2012 (including taylor swift and gangnam style etc.) and people just hated on it.
I just don’t understand.
I mean, I do understand. I have my own issues with ‘the industry,’ I have issues with how it’s hard to compete with a bunch of people with…
Songs:Ohia :: “The Long Dark Blues” Demo
I have always and will always be amazed at what Jason Molina can do with just one guitar and his voice. Amazing songwriter.
Feist :: Mushaboom (Demo)
Early Demo Day continues!
Well, I think you know I am an unabashed Sade fan. But me and Johnny are also huge fans of Milosh. His “Meme” album is fantastic and right up there with Sade’s “Lover’s Rock” as one of the best make-out albums of all time. Turns out he has a new band and now the hipsters love them. Rhye is their name and Pitchfork just gave them an 8.4.
This video features a solo piano version sung to his wife. We here at IL GATO Industries love us some sincerity. Enjoy!
Well, I guess it is Casimir Pulaski Day! And early demo day! More to come…
Today is Casimir Pulaski Day. Here’s an early demo. Not sure when I recorded this, but I was obviously still working it out. XXOO Sloppy Joe.
Ben Gibbard has always been a great lyricist. But these “Oooohs” and instrument arrangement is awesome.
I have always loved Boyz II Men. From the time I wore a suit coat and shorts to my 8th grad dance to the time two nights ago I was talking about what an amazing album, “Cooleyhighharmony” still is.
A few years later, I came across a story about a song called “Sweet Leilani,” which Bing Crosby had released in 1937. Apparently, it was so popular that, by some estimates, the sheet music sold fifty-four million copies. Home-played music had been so widespread that nearly half the country had bought the sheet music for a single song, and had presumably gone through the trouble of learning to play it. →
Beck talking about the album he is releasing as only sheet music. (via the New Yorker)
Sigur Ros is still so, so , so good at whatever this is.
